If there’s one reflex that I’ve quickly learnt since using figma, it’s to always say to myself “If I have to do the same action more than 3 times, there’s probably a plugin that can automate it”.

oday I’d like to introduce you to 5 plugins that I use almost on a daily basis to manage a design system and improve collaboration between designers and developers, boosting my productivity and eliminating repetitive and tedious tasks.

#1 — Page organizer

Allows you to create file structure templates using Figma pages. The whole team uses the same templates, which considerably improves communication and collaboration.

#2- Style Organizer

Automatically repairs broken or missing text and colour styles. An essential step before final delivery to the technical teams.

#3- Deepl

This is probably the best-known plugin on the list, but it allows me to test my components and their implementation in any language with just a few clicks.

#4- Version History to Slack

Communication is a crucial element in the management of a design system. If your teams use slack, this plugin allows you to synchronise the release notes of each library directly in a slack channel defined by you.

#5- Propstart

Generate all possible instances for your components, including every combination of variants and component properties, all in a tidy labelled table.
